Superfoods

As evidenced by our longest-lived elders, the latest scientific research, and clinical practice in disease prevention and reversal, the Superfoods diet, and accompanying lifestyle, is key to optimal health.

Superfoods are plant-based, nutrient-dense, calorie-sparse, health-empowering foods. So eat from Dr. Todd’s Superfoods Pyramid…use it as your field guide. I have my patients take it with them to the grocery store to use as a shopping guide.  And, do take my Eat Yourself Super 21 Day Superfoods Challenge! Your health is never stagnant, it is either getting better or worse based on your habits. The challenge is designed to ingrain the good ones and demonstrate how easy, fun, and delicious it is to eat healthfully via Superfoods!

By eating a diet rich in Superfoods, you will provide yourself with plenty of good carbohydrates, balanced proteins, good fats, bioavailable vitamins, minerals, trace minerals, plant pigments, enzymes, antioxidants, hormone precursors and other phytonutrients and phytochemicals, including biophotons and other essentials we have yet to uncover.

In this day and age, we all fall a bit short here and there. Depleted soils, altered microbiota (both on us and in our environment), as well as toxins and stressors are all around us. Sometimes we need to help ourselves out a little. The top of our Superfoods pyramid features those foods which help us to bridge this gap to optimal health and wellness—Functional Foods. Three very important ones are: Maca, Cat’s Claw, and Matcha.

    I tried my wedding dress on yesterday. Not only is it fitting better, but its going to have to be taken in before my big day! I couldn’t be happier!!! Currently overturning my closet and getting rid of ALL clothing thats too big. Putting that lifestyle in the past never felt better!

          Adele says she said “NO” to ham on Easter for the first time in her life! She was proactive and prepared superfood recipes to eat instead, including quinoa pasta with hot peppers, tomatoes and basil, as well as fruit stew for dessert. She’s just beaming with pride. Way to continue our journey, Adele.

    Thank you to everyone!! I am so grateful for everyone’s support and help in informing me on better ways to treat my body. My fiancé has had great success too, not to mention the increase in energy he has gained! His work is very physically demanding so that change has been monumental for him. I notice when he gets home he’s less lazy too :-)

    So EXCITED my jeans that didn’t fit for the last 6 mo. are fitting great. on Easter fell of the Superfood wagon and ate Pastry. Boy once I started My body just wanted more sugar. I really felt the addiction kick in. So I’m starting fresh to tell myself no sweets…..

    I came back to work after a 3 day mini vacation and I’m very excited to hear about some success stories since our 21 Day Challenge kick of this past Thursday at the Mentor Heinen’s. Nice job everyone!

    I am so proud of the associates who have been making positive changes to their life. I had many great success stories at the meeting yesterday. Most of the gang has included greens in their diets, chia seeds, and overall healful awareness. There were a few people who lost up to 4 pounds! In only 7 days! Keep moving forward and more importantly, have fun!

    Great to see the awareness around superfoods and healthy eating in our store. I have noticed that the girls up fron that are on the journey are also sharing what they have learned with other associates and customers.
    Cathy, nice job on staying away from white sugar. Isn’t it amazing when you get away from sugar for a week then try to have it how overpowering it is.
    We need to get more people on the blog to share what they have learned and help to support one another.
    One last thing i am on the Matcha kick, Sara has me hooked. I do feel more balanced during the day especially at night.

    I started the SUPER FOODS JOURNEY three weeks ago and now I look at food in a different way. Before I started this journey I was a poor eater. I hated vegetables and ate a litte bit of fruit. Now I incorporate foods from the SUPERFOODS PYRAMID as part of every meal. My wife Kathy has joined me in this lifestyle change. We have tryed several recipes from EAT YOURSELF SUPER and enjoyed them all. Since the start I’ve lost four pounds. We have cut out meat,dairy,white flour, sugars and processed foods. For us this is a lifestyle change, a better way of life not a diet. I would like to thank Dr. Todd for his book, time, and all his knowledge he shares with us. Also Iwould like to thank Nick for sharing his views and pointing me in the right direction on how to get started. Thank you to all the girls up front for your suport throughout this amazing journey. Sara I cant thank you enough for getting this started all your hard work and being there for all of us you did a great job THANK YOU

    I bought Dr. Todd’s book along with his three supplements to take on the 21-day challenge. My problem is, I’m not very creative, and I would love some guidelines or suggestions on what to have for breakfast, etc. Some sample daily menues would be great!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

      come to Heinen’s we sell Alvarado street bread you can toast it put almond butter with some honey and chia seeds on it. it’s really tasty. oats with walnuts and honey use almond milk to help it not be too thick. there is a recipe in the book for a smoothie that’s also filling and easy. good luck it is a lot of good food. if you are in mentor Ohio come see the wellness consultant she is great for ideas.
