Cocoa-nut Macaroons

2 cups raw almond meal
2 cups raw coconut shreds (unsweetened and unsulfured)
½ cup maple syrup
¼ cup raw cacao powder or nibs

Step 1) Mix all ingredients together in a bowl; it should be somewhat tacky to the touch, but not gooey. Add more of any of the dry ingredients if it’s too gooey.

Step 2) Roll into small balls, place on a cookie sheet and put in oven for several hours on its lowest temperature (or dehydrate a bit). Crack the oven door so as not to dry them out too much, you will know they are done when they are firm to the touch on the outside, but moist and soft on the inside.
