Yum! I am salivating as I sit here and write this post! As I tell my children regularly, there is no better time to test your patience than when you are hungry and sit with food in front of you. Let your digestive juices get worked up a bit, this is very good for you since your digestive process starts with sight, smell, or even thought of food. Salivation is one of the key steps to digestion (and, in particular, for carbohydrates/sugars and fats). As the elders in my Secrets of Long Life research teach: consume your food slowly, in meditation and moderation; chew your food well; and don’t dilute your solids with liquids. These Melissa’s Shishito Peppers steam sautéed with sprouted cannellini beans, kale, tomatoes and garlic certainly get the juices flowing! Do enjoy!
